“Not All Who Wander Are Lost”

This week I decided to write a little about a quote I heard recently. The quote is “Not all that wander are lost” This quote really stood out to me. What it means to me is that there are people that may not always have a way to go in life and that does not mean they do not know what they are doing, they are just finding their way to their dreams and trying to do what they can to get there.
I can connect to this and art because when you think about an art pieces, some artists may not know what they are going to create or what they want to do yet, but as the ‘wander’ they will find away, because they wander does not mean they’re lost, it just means they are not sure of where to go yet. It is all about decision making and not getting afraid of the unknown, to feel free to explore outside of the book. to feel free to wander a place they are not aware of in their mind.
It is called exploring your mind of creativity. Allow yourself to explore the unknown and explore the world of your creative mind. Also, even connecting this quote to the real world. There will be people in this world that have a goal, but they are not sure which way to go, so they tend to ‘wander’ to find the right way, but because they ‘wander’ does not mean they are ‘lost’, it does not mean that they don’t know what they are going for, they do know where their going yet, sometimes they just don’t know exactly how to get there.
I am this way sometimes because sometimes I really want to create a piece of art, but I’m not sure how to do it, so I try different ways to get my goal and to be able to work it out. Also, when this is happening, on your way to your art piece, you will get more ideas and they will sprout into better art pieces.
Also as an artist one thing I struggle with is getting to the solution. I always want to find the solutions, but if I tell myself the quote, ‘Not all who wander are lost’, I will tell myself I do not need a solution yet, we are still just starting, just let the ideas come to you, change up what you have, don’t get upset if you have to give away ideas you do not want to let go, but you may have to anyways.
You have to allow yourself to change your ideas, because if you never are open to new ideas, you will never get better as an artist, it will just become harder to throw ideas away, and you will worry a lot about messing it up, rather than making it better. You have to allow those new ideas in and the opinions in also because even if you do not, maybe the person looking at the piece won’t know what they are looking at. For example, when you are making an art piece, in particular, choreography for a dance, if you want to get a story across, you will need to ask people for opinions because they have to get the story, otherwise, it won’t make any since, you can not keep it that vague.
Especially dance, choreography is very hard to get a specific story across, choreography is very vague is story telling, you will need some dialogue or some film to let them know the back story so the choreography will make since, thats why you need to let ideas in, not be afraid to let ideas go, and do not be afraid to explore the unknown. It is only your brain to explore.
